The Highwood Historical Society has one of the largest memberships of any historical society in Lake County. Averaging above 200 plus members annually. Many members live outside of the community. Our newsletter and news about their former home is something they look forward to. For members of the Highwood community our newsletter is sent to every home and business. It is our way of saying we are actively collecting and disseminating the history of our community.

We have worked with local schools, other local and regional historical societies and have contributed to books and articles regarding the history of our community. We are proud of our accomplishments and are able to make a difference thanks to our ever-growing membership.

Membership dues also support the many events and activities we host and most importantly your membership supports archiving the tens of 1000's pieces of historical documents, photographs and stories that have been collected.
